Presenting about “Design Research”

Making design decisions can be subjective and arbitrary. How can designers, developers, and clients make objective decisions that are backed by valid reasons? In this talk, I’ll cover aspects of design research, considering accessibility, usability, device technology, and branding strategy, helping kick projects off on the right foot.

Sam Kapila is a design educator & designer in Austin, TX. She grew up on the Dutch island of Curaçao. Her design work has been recognized by national and international publications and competitions such as the American Advertising Federation and CMYK Magazine. She left the brand and advertising world, because she fell in love with web design (again) while living in awesome tech scene in Texas. Sam has spent the past few years developing and teaching Responsive Web Design and Web Typography university courses. Besides teaching, she also is a weekly guest on Transmission, and co-host of the ATX Web Show and Non-Breaking Space podcasts.

The event is free but please RSVP here
