Born and raised in the midwest, Jason Craig transplanted himself to the deep south in the late 90s leaving behind a promising career in the comic book industry. Since that time Jason has worked and had many titles in several creative industries including screen printing, sign making, digital printing, screen printed posters, magazine publishing and has been the Senior Designer at Wier/Stewart for the last 5 years. All while maintaining a productive art and illustration career.

In his talk, Origins of Expert, Jason talks about the speed bumps that he has ran into over the course of his seventeen year career and the habits that he has formed in response to those obstacles. Half motivational talk and half cautionary tales, Jason cuts through the romance that is sometimes cast upon the design profession and tells it like it is.

Jason’s work has been published in PRINT Magazine and HOW and has won numerous Addy awards and an AIGA InShow award. Jason also spends time judging Addys and is President Elect of the Augusta, Georgia chapter of Adfed.
