Meet Tyler Pate

Tyler Pate is an art director/graphic designer, illustrator and all-around creative in Charleston, SC. Pate was born in Lake City South Carolina and graduated from Francis Marion University with bachelors in visual communication. Following graduation, he came to work at Blue Ion, a full-service digital agency. Pate has remained at Blue Ion for four years now as the agency’s art director. 

During his tenure at Blue Ion, Pate has been working to hone his craft and problem solving skills by dabbling in branding exercises, creating illustrations, designing for websites and producing process videos. Though his professional work is rooted in graphic design, Pate has an affinity for all things handmade and often can be found printing and painting when he’s not working. 

Pate is a self-proclaimed creative and prefers not to ascribe to the singular labels of designer or artist. He finds the creative process and overcoming the initial creative pain one of the most rewarding parts of a project and has come to love the hiccups and hurdles along the way.
