Josh Whiteside is the Director of Creative for the Charlotte Hornets. He oversees all creative projects for the Charlotte Hornets, including arena graphics, marketing and print materials, videos and in game animations. Josh also led a creative team of Graphic Designers, Video Producers and Graphic Animators through the transition from the Charlotte Bobcats to the Charlotte Hornets. This also included directing an internal team in the rebranding process of Time Warner Cable Arena® by the identification and removal of all Bobcats assets and developing and executing over 1000 new Hornets arena assets

Josh will talk about the rebranding process of the Bobcats to the Hornets through a  presentation and discussion moderated by Professor Stephanie Nace from the USC School of Visual Arts and Design. There will be a question and answer session as well.

In addition to his work with the Charlotte Hornets, Josh Whiteside has worked for some of the most iconic sports brands in the world. He was the Lead designer for the Penn Fishing brand while employed at Pure Fishing, based out of Columbia SC. While there Josh designed all print, packaging and marketing pieces for the Penn brand. He moved on from there to take over the design department for Dunlop Golf and Racquet sports based out of Greenville SC. Josh oversaw all packaging, product design, and marketing materials across all divisions of product development. His next move was to Pittsburgh, PA as the Sr. Packaging Designer responsible for leading a team of Graphic Designers for the visual identities of 8 owned and licensed brands. From design strategy through implementation for advertisements, packaging and collateral across equipment, apparel and footwear categories. Brands include Maxfli, TopFlite, Nickent, Slazenger, Walter Hagen, Lady Hagen, Acuity, Adidas baseball and Rawlings.
